Tacens Gelus Pro III - Review

With the heatsink Gelus Pro 3, the broad aims and Tacens largest market for regular PC users. Or of those who do not care less about overclocking, do not want to spend 60-80 euros for a heat sink to air and claim for silence.
There are many people now leaving the PC on or in stand-by at night and it is not uncommon for the PC is in the very room where they sleep. The heatsinks bundled with the CPU not only suffer from performance shortcomings but are noisy and if that be 'discomfort during the day, we know more or less all that is problematic at night. She managed Tacens to solve the problem?

The package is practical, small and light, we find once inside a box with all accessories for mounting (tube of thermal paste included) and under the blister containing the heatsink and fan.

The first impression is to not get your hands on a product that costs 35/40 € but something more.
Here you can find the technical characteristics:

The heatsink is solid, well built, and the aluminum plates are difficult to fold. These are crossed from 5 heat-pipes of copper in direct contact with the CPU, making it easier to heat dissipation.

The 120mm fan ensures a good blast from the noise, it being inaudible even when the PC is in full-load.

Given the target of this heatsink, not all have well-ventilated chassis and we wanted to run a long test (the time that the "oven" to heat up just right) on a mid-tower with a single 120mm fan on the back, with cables in disarray and sending the PC into full-load during the hottest hours of the day. At this point, and only at this point, 1800rpm 19db occurred and have been declared definitely exceeded: at a distance of 60cm felt a little 'fan.

This means that, unless extreme situations (that should be more worried about the fate of the hardware for the noise), Gelus Pro III is able to deliver on its brand, bringing the end user (and his roommates) to sleep calm even when the PC is in the bedroom.

Sometimes we see our friends to buy coolers from 50-60 € without that there is a real need. Unless great overclocking (a small fine is governed by this dissy!), The Pro III Gelus Tacens for price and performance, you can purchase a heatsink which should be evaluated by all. If then the silence is an important factor for you, there is nothing better in this price range, considering that the fan is already provided!
